The taste buds way to connection
With people from three different countries comes food from three different countries. This we use as a way of getting to know each other’s lives and culture better by mixing many dishes in a buffet. On Thursday evening all the participants of the Comenius-project are having an international buffet. All the students have been asked to bring something eatable and typical from their country. All these minor dishes are to be put together on one big table and the project-participants are able to try new dishes and get new experiences while learning and including other cultures and habits. Dishes that will be presented on the table are, for example “Bullen´s pilsnerkorv” (a sausage from Sweden), curry sausages (from Germany) and “stoofvlees” (from Belgium).

Ecological cheese farm
When we got there, we immediately were greeted by the friendly owner of the farm and his two dogs. He was very enthusiastic about everything. He told us that they only had sheep, pigs, goats and cows which all help to make delicious cheese. They don´t have any corn fields, only grass which is used as food for the cattle. The fact that they only eat grass, is a part of the ecological concept. The farmer said that the cows give less milk than normal cows but also that they are less ill and live longer.

Demons in open air
The open air museum Lippisches Landesmuseum shows you the history of the area Lippe in a colouring and alternative way. You get to feel, smell and see the exhibition in a way that no other type of museum can give you.
The Lippische Landesmuseum is the oldest and the biggest open air museum in the whole of Westfalen-Lippe. An open air museum means that the museum is exhibiting their collection out-doors. The main idea of this kind of museum is to create a believable atmosphere of the historical century that the museum is trying to show. Some open air museums also have actors who impersonate characters from a certain time, this is called “living open air museum”.

A visit to a biological fruit farm
This Tuesday the pupils of our cooking group went on a small trip to a biological fruit farm. When we stopped at the farm, we saw a small barn with a shop attached to it. The keepers of the farm sell vegetables, fruit and drinks. The fruit and some oft the drinks are homemade, but the vegetables are from other farmers.
The farm itself is quite small. It’s only 20 hectares in which only fruits are cultivated. They don’t plant any corn, only fruits like strawberries, raspberries, cherries, apples and pears.
